A deathly breeze announces winter, sneaking and cunning.
Among the fallen leaves of autumn, life exhales one last time,
As night creeps in for longer than day now, and keeps growing.
Shadows dance in the twilight hours, figures of fog in the wind,
Thus the court of winter settles in within the empty halls of the forest.
By the river, right by the shore besieged with ice, silence crawls.
One by one, bear, boar and deer bow to the coming desolation,
the mantle that falls upon the forest, lulling all to sleep, but the owl.
By the faint rays of moonlight, the eerie brides of snow come forth:
